Insights from role-playing again

I had a lot of great insights from the last mockup session in class. Some great takeaways and my observations are listed below:

  • People really took to the idea of a sponsorship program. It led me to explore and research what exactly goes into an AA sponsorships and as expected, there are rules, expectations from the sponsor and the sponsored and program guidelines. There was also a prompt from a person who asked if there were other models in illness like this. My research in that led me to discover groups for younger people going through chronic illnesses. Examples include ImproveCareNow and TRACS. This also made me think about MS communities existing as support groups, mainly online.
  • I was pushed to think about how to make the on-boarding process on this tool easier for patients who might be more sensitive than other patients when talking about their conditions. This includes on how to make it more focused and directed in getting to the root of what the patients are feeling.
  • There were questions around how might the matching work when looking for sponsors. To what extent do cultural barriers play a role in this process? What happens when there are language limitations? What is the internet infrastructure across countries? Out of these questions, the ones in regards to language were the most interesting to me.
