Value Proposition & Product Lifecycle

Prototype in the making.

Value Proposition

Statement (in the works)
A communication device and app to empower MS patients and their families to understand and manage MS better together.

Users
People living with MS
Families living with MS and/or supporters of the above

Offering
A communication device to send emotion signals
An AI-based app empowering families to take appropriate actions of help

Benefits
Improved/non-hindered communication from the patient
Empowered/informed actions in response by the supporters

Name
Still in the works

For
Person and their families/supporters living with MS

Who are/wants(needs)

Have the need of improving communication lines between each other in everyday lives. This includes asking for help, letting each other know how they are feeling, a facilitation to talk about the important day-to-day things in life that are often made difficult to say or discuss due to complications that MS brings with it.

______________ is a (specific market category)

A tool for managing Multiple Sclerosis

That (key benefit)
Improves communication between the person living with MS and their families who are empowered to manage the effect of MS

Unlike (competition)
Other MS management tools which take the form of literature often very heavy on text and take the form of books, long-form articles

__________ is different because of the following features:

  • Opens up a direct, simple form of communication for the patient to the family/support group, something which takes away from the complications of starting a conversation, which is one-way all the time from the patient. This is bringing the form of communication to a form of indication, meaning that it allows the patient to the record or send out a signal of how they are doing, how they are feeling and for he signal to be received by their supporters who are them empowered by the second part of the system to take appropriate action in response to the signal.
  • The app provides an AI based learning system throughout the MS journey of the patient. The app gives specific courses of action in response to the kind of signal they receive from the patient. For instance, a happy signal (yellow) would be encouraged by the app to be pursued and talked about, so that such behavior which triggered this happy emotion in the patient can be replicated in times of need and distress.

Product Lifecycle

Writing out your idea/product lifecycle

What does it look like for the first 10 users
It looks like a form of sending a signal through the device which is received by the app on the other end by the supporters of the patient.

Consider which features provide the core product value?
Signal
App which empowers supporters to take appropriate action

What needs to change to scale to 1,000 users
The seamlessness of how the system works would need to be perfect in order for this to scale to a 1000 users.

Consider features that will require some user adoption before you can integrate them?

Signal sending

Consider features that will require more substantial resources to achieve (funding, baseline review, etc)

- App development
- Device production and adoption by the patient as one of the primary means of sending a signal of how they are feeling
- Learning about it/ using on a day to day / interacting with family

Will your product be integral to each phase? Is it weak in any phase? Is it unnecessary in any phase?
Yes. For the system to work well together, the device and the app will have to work together through and through to have meaningful impact.

What can you leave out?
I can leave out the communication part that needs to happen in the middle, that i can depend on the family and the person living with MS to do because that needs to happen more organically.

What is it critical to be a part of?
Sending the signal
Knowing what to do after problem/need has been established

What would you like your next prototype to achieve? List all features you want it to have and the value it will provide, or problem it will solve.

  • Communicate how the patient is doing to the supporters at any given time
  • Correspond with the digital app bu the physical product
  • App covers everything the patient could be facing
  • App learns what the patient goes through most of the time
  • App empowers based on what the patient gos through most of the time
  • App learns family and patient patterns over time to empower the families do the work on their own
  • App becomes a tracker for how the patient has been doing and why some triggers are good or bad to avoid or encourage those behaviors respectively
  • App becomes a bridge between patients and their supporters overtime even if they happen to be far apart in distance
  • App is easy enough to be used by all members of the family who are young and have a smartphone or old and have a smartphone presence in their day to day

List level of fidelity for every aspect you want to have by this point
-
Device — high fidelity
- App — high fidelity
- Communication between the two — medium fidelity

List types of testing you will be able to do with it
If sending the signal actually works
The app encouraging family members to do what is best for the patient

You can also list things not about functionality, for example, something personal for your own development/process
Need to see hope of some positive lasting impact on the patients lives and the family to feel less frustration.
