Guess This Art!

№1: Identity Ruptured

A game for those of you who love art and science and thinking about what it means to have a sense of self. What follows are some song lyrics I wrote about one of my favorite photographs. Can you guess who the photographer is and the specific photograph I am referring to? Let me know in the comments!

Identity Ruptured

An apple sits
Upon a stick
Like a head
Adjoining to a neck

A beautiful portrait
Brightest red sphere
Against clean blue
A most Godly radiant light

Action captured, reaction withheld
Tense suspension, of expectation
Makes you question, all that is

An apple sits
Boundary breached
Core shaken
Identity in question

A beautiful portrait
The scatter is obscene
Against clean blue
A most ghostly criminal sight

Action captured, reaction withheld
Tense suspension, of expectation
Makes you question, all that is

An apple sits
Still as Lincoln
A good apple
Losing embodied form

A beautiful portrait
Of our innate desire
Against clean blue
A most beastly insulting plight

Action captured, reaction withheld
Tense suspension, of expectation
Makes you question, all that is

Can you name the photographer and photo?

Give up? You can find the answer here.

**Note that the image below is not the image referred to in the poem.**

Image by francescoch. Not what the poem is about, but an invitation to guess. Who is the artist? And who are you?
