Ayton, Bagley, Jackson, Bamba, Doncic, or someone else? We all want to know who’s going first, who’s going second, and who’s going to our favorite team (and praying that we like that decision). As the season wraps up, basketball fans will be focused on the Barclay’s Center for the 2018 NBA Draft. We’re taking another pretend trip to an NBA event, letting AwayGame pick our itinerary as we travel to Brooklyn on Thursday with an interest in local cuisine, tapas, guided tours, famous spots, and cocktail bars.

9:00 AM: Absolute Coffee

Time to start the day with some food and a pick me up! One of Absolute’s Single Origin coffees should do the trick.

10:00 AM: Governor’s Island

Nothing beats summer in NYC, so let’s take that coffee on a ferry ride to Governors Island. Operated today by the National Park Service and non-profits, this island is full of war and settlement history to discover.

12:00 PM: Mazzat

Now back on the mainland, it’s time for lunch. This mediterranean tapas joint will offer some refueling and relaxation.

1:30 PM: Rolling Orange Bike Tours

Rolling Orange takes the bike culture of Netherlands and transports it to Brooklyn! We want to see more of the borough, and they’ll help us do it with either a guided or unguided tour.

4:00 PM: The Norm | Brooklyn Museum

We’re in Brooklyn, so we have to be a little boujee. This drinks and snacks place is literally inside a museum, the perfect place to feel cultured and sophisticated while having drinks before the Draft.

6:00PM: The 2018 NBA Draft

The big show! We gotta get there early to find our seats and see the soon-to-be picks arrive.

10:00 PM: Barely Disfigured

As the draft starts to wind down. We’re going to head over to this local cocktail bar to cap the night off. Bartender’s Choice, anyone?
