Dana is a married mum-of-two who since high-school immigrated to the UK. She went to an arts-focused high school majoring in theatre, where she took some classes in costume design, uncovering her interest in fashion. Dana has always cultivated an unconventional aesthetic with inspiration drawn from ancient-world fashion, which inspired her to submit her sketch, a robe as a piece of unisex outerwear. Dana earned degrees in International Affairs and Computer Science and is currently working as a cyber security researcher at the University of Oxford. Dana is also a science-fiction writer, a musician, and a recovering American.

Dana’s original design was a unisex long sleeves robe. Our proposal maintained her original ideal but included AWAYTOMARS’ asymmetrical aesthetics.

The result: The Fashion Show at ModaLisboa

On our AW17 edition of the ModaLisboa we wanted to present a different concept: we wanted our guests to experience the co-criation process live. For this we invited artists to intervene on the clothes that were presented in calico (a plain cotton fabric). Dana’s design was transformed by the artist João Nepomuceno.
