Co-creators: Ruben Osório
Ruben Osorio is from Lisbon, Portugal and graduated with a degree in Fashion & Textile Design at ESART in 2012. The following year he started working as a designer for Valentim Quaresma, a jewellery design studio. Later he embraced the newly founded project Gata-Gineta working as a footwear designer. For the past two years he worked as an illustrator and hand-drawing professor, while simultaneously developing his own fashion brand: Mattérea. He recently join GQ Portugal.
Ruben’s original design was a a jumper with a high collar and pockets in the front. Our proposal was to keep only one pocket, leave the sleeves opened and include the slash cuts which arepart of the AWAYTOMARS brand identity.
The result: The Fashion Show at ModaLisboa
On our AW17 edition of the ModaLisboa we wanted to present a different concept: we wanted our guests to experience the co-criation process live. For this we invited artists to intervene on the clothes that were presented in calico (a plain cotton fabric). Ruben’s design was transformed by the artist Thomas Mendonça.
