How to use Trust Token to mint TUSD

This article covers the steps to mint and redeem TUSD.

TrueUSD (TUSD)

TrueUSD is a stablecoin that can be minted and redeemed 1-for-1 for US Dollars. TrueUSD is fully collateralized, legally protected, and transparently verified through third-party attestations. TrueUSD is the first asset token built by the TrustToken team.

Getting Started — Mint TUSD

How minting works

Step 1

• Create and verify your account via the TrustToken website (https://app.trusttoken.com/signup-or-signin).
• Follow the on-screen instructions and enter all the relevant details.

Step 2

• After creating your account, you’ll receive an email from
  no-reply@trusttoken.com with a verification link. Click this link to verify your email address and then set up 2FA.

Step 3

• You will notice as above that you would need to complete verification in order to mint any True currencies.
• Please enter all the applicant information before proceeding to the identity verification section.

• For identity verification, the following photo I.D are acceptable:
  - For US customers: Passport or Government ID.
  - For non-US customers: Passport.

Step 4

• Next up is adding proof of address. You will need the following:
  - Current residential address (cannot be a PO box).
  - For International users : Proof of address dated within 90 days. Full list of acceptable proof of address can be found below:

Step 5

• Review all your details and click submit.

Submit your application. We will review your application within 3–14 business days. Do expect delays.

Step 6

• Once the verification is completed, you can start the process to mint TUSD. Keep in mind it may take upwards of 2 weeks for this to occur.
• Start by selecting the relevant wallet address type:

Choose the Avalanche Chain wallet option.

• Enter your Avalanche C-Chain wallet address as instructed:

Step 7

• Make sure your wallet address is correct, and confirm it on the page.

• Your instructions to wire the funds will be given as shown below:

Trust Token Trustee DOES NOT accept other transfers, such as ACH, FPS, local money transfers, Venmo, TransferWise, PayPal, etc.

• Once you’ve wired the funds, it may take upwards of 1–5 business days for the process to complete.
• You will receive an email on the successful mint and you should be able to see the funds in your respective wallet/exchange wallet.

Step 8 (Further steps to swap from TUSD)

• Head over to Axial exchange (https://app.axial.exchange/#/) to swap your TUSD for the stablecoins available. DAI.e is chosen below as an example.

How do I redeem TrueUSD?

The following steps will demonstrate how you can redeem your TUSD back into your bank account.

How redemption works.

Step 1

• Head to https://app.trusttoken.com/dashboard to start the redemption process.

Step 2

• Complete adding the bank account details and agree to TrustToken’s terms and conditions. Once complete you will receive the redemption address. Keep in mind that the minimum redemption size is 1,000 TUSD.

• Transfer your TUSD to the redemption address and the funds will be wired to your bank account automatically.

Important note: It is advised to have a USD-denominated bank account in order to reduce transaction fees and less-than-ideal exchange rates.
