I spent 10+ hours investigating the data breaches of 2023.

Most reports I came across indicate that 2023 was the worst year yet for data breaches, both in the US and around the world.

According to an Identity Theft Resource Center (ITRC), there was a 78% increase in data compromises year-to-year, from 1.801 in 2022 to 3.205 in 2023.

But it applies not only to the governments and corporations.

It also applies to personal accounts (e.g. Twitter, Instagram, Amazon, etc.)

In the Q4 2023 data breaches exposed more than 8 million personal records worldwide ❗
