Usecase 1: Chatbot for booking a table

Let’s talk about the simplest use case, booking a table. No one wants to keep waiting at the restaurant for their food. Similarly, no one wants to spend a long time going through a website or mobile app to book a restaurant table.

The easiest and most convenient thing to do would be that restaurants allow users to just talk to their chatbot and get their table booking in a few messages.

So Imagine I am talking to a restaurant chatbot. Have a look at this conversation:

User: Hey, can you please book a table for 2 person

Bot: Sure, what date and time

User: Tomorrow at 8 pm

Bot: Done, would you like to see our menu?

User: Yes sure, why not

Bot: Here you go! <Show menu items>

User: Thank you, do you have anything in Italian?

Bot: Here are our Italian menu items

User: That looks great

Bot: Would you like to order the food now

User: Sure

Bot: Ok, what would you like to order.

User: Italian Pasta and Lasagne for 2 people

Bot: Anything else?

User: No, that’s it.

Bot: Done! Your food will be ready when you arrive here tomorrow at 8 pm.

Bot: By the way here are the directions to our restaurants and for any assistance call us on 99XXXXXXX.

So there was the conversation going on between a user who wants to book a table at the restaurant and the restaurant bot.

Just imagine how delighted he would be after having a successful conversation like this with a bot.

If you are a restaurant owner and think this is science fiction, this is not something from science fiction. It is a reality and in fact, many restaurants are using such chatbots and they have seen many folds growth in their business.
