Feels good to be publishing another article for AXToken after a busy week in New York City. Key members of DASHUB and AXP management attended — including myself — and it was awesome. In this article we’re going to talk about the week and some of the events we attended.

What is Blockchain Week in New York City?

CoinDesk partnered with the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) to sponsor the inaugural “Blockchain Week” in New York City. This event took place from May 11th through the 17th (2018). The official numbers haven’t been released yet, but imagine thousands upon thousands of people from all over the world converging in New York City with like causes related to blockchain, crypto, and all the exciting things happening in the space. The buzz and the energy was intense.

Consensus was the headliner, anchoring the entire event, and featured 100+ sponsors, thousands of attendees, dozens of speakers and industries, and had representation from over 70 countries. And this was just the primary event. There were countless meetings, private parties, and impromptu gatherings happening all over the city.

DASHUB and AXP at Blockchain Week in New York City

DASHUB has offices in New York in addition to our corporate headquarters in Tampa, Florida. In fact, all three of the company’s founders live in New York, so in a way, this event was literally in DASHUB’s backyard. Several key members of the team traveled from Tampa to attend the event.

The team spent a considerable amount of time at Consensus, as this was the primary draw. But as big and important as this conference was, it only represented a small amount of the work we did in the city representing DASHUB, the Automotive eXchange Platform (AXP), and our security token sale for AXT. We attended several other conferences, such as Token Summit, Crypto Influence Summit, Blockchain and Law Symposium, City Blockchain Summit, and several others. Our calendars were packed — 18 hours per day — meeting with current investors, potential investors, business partners, and potential business partners. It was thrilling to see people’s faces light up when we described how we were working to bring blockchain to the automotive space. They wanted to hear more about our online automotive marketplace that is currently operating and generating millions in annual revenue. They wanted to learn more about all of us, the team, our background, and our plans to execute. And when we got to the point in the conversation where we really got to dig in to the potential long-term implications a project like this could have on automotive, you could see it start to click in their minds.

The Private Party

Wednesday evening, May 16th, after a drizzly day in New York City, DASHUB hosted a private party at the Juniper Bar. No power point presentations, no fancy speeches, no strong arming, just a solid block of time for key management to talk with our partners and interested persons. During and after the event we were praised by some of the VIPs that we had thrown one of the most unique and pleasant parties of the whole week.

We look forward to traveling to more conferences, putting on more events, and building the community around this project.

I’d like to add a disclaimer. We’ve gone to great lengths to secure our legal team and advisory board. And given the current climate surrounding blockchain projects, cryptocurrencies, and ICOs in general, it’s important to note that our official website (https://axt.io) and official White Paper (linked via the website) remain the only official sources of information about this project. This article, and other articles released by this publication are for entertainment purposes only. Thanks for understanding.
