It is not easy to work with guides in Axure. It takes time to understand how do they behave, but once you master them, you'll use them on every project–you become way more efficient and your designs will be more consistent.

One of the most common question related guides in Axure is how to remove them.

While adding a new guide in Axure is easy…

To add a new guide in Axure is very easy and straightforward: With rulers turned on (View > Rulers, Grid, and Guides > Show Rulers) click into the horizontal or vertical ruler and drag your guide into the canvas.

This should be easy and if you are familiar with other designing or wireframing applications, you'll quickly get used to it.

…removing a guide can be pain

No, you simply can't drag the guide out of the canvas.

No, you can't right click the guide and remove it.

No, any other idea just doesn't work…!

It drove me nuts when I didn't know how to remove it when I started with Axure. But the solution for removing a guide is quite simple:

All you need to do is to click a guide to select it and then hit “delete” or backspace” on your keyboard.

And “poof”–the guide is gone!

Click the guide to select it and then hit “delete” key.

I like Axure but this workaround is not very user friendly. I hope they will implement something more intuitive for removing guides (hint: see Sketch).

Extra tip: Delete all guides in your page

If you need to delete all guides in your current page, click right mouse button anywhere on the ruler and select “Delete All Guides”.
