Fundchain the new crowdfunding App on the Ethereum Blockchain
Blockchain allows strangers across the world to engage in complicated financial transactions within a programmable framework of trust. Fundchain is taking it a step further by bringing donation based crowdfunding to the public on blockchain making it as transparent and decentralized as possible.

We’ve redesigned crowdfunding and took the worry out. In the Fundchain any user can sign up and submit to run a crowdfunding campaign. The campaign is then crosschecked and approved before it is live. Once live any participant can donate to the crowdfunding campaign through our app in ETH or AZT (currently only these two methods are active more to be added soon). All this done on the Ethereum blockchain making it decentralized, transparent and automated through smart contracts.
How Donation-Based Crowdfunding Works.
If an entrepreneur or inventor has a great idea for a new product or service, crowdfunding offers an alternative way to raise money, as opposed to traditional methods of borrowing money through banks or private loans or by offering equity shares. Through donation-based crowdfunding, the entrepreneur can pre-sell their product to a large number of backers who each donate a relatively small sum toward the project. To encourage higher donation amounts, the entrepreneur may also offer rewards of increasing value or significance, while retaining full ownership of the project or company being funded. Using the Ethereum blockchain fundchain has made it accessible to anyone anywhere to participate in these campaigns and support.
Charities look to crowdfunding as a means to gather support for relief efforts or causes the organization is championing. For example, disaster relief charities may seek funds to aid in the search, rescue, recovery, and treatment of individuals affected by devastating storms or earthquakes. There may be campaigns for specific needs such as funding the transport of food and clothing to the disaster area. The donations may be sought to support the construction of temporary shelters or the procurement of medical supplies. Crowdfunding might also be used to pay for the reconstruction of infrastructure and utilities that would not otherwise be covered by government disaster funds. At its root, donation-based crowdfunding can be seen as comparable to micro financing.
The App is currently live on the Android and iOS app stores and can be downloaded form the links mentioned above. The Fundchain Beta version of the App is deployed initially on the Ropsten Test Network. The Testnet is an alternative Ethereum blockchain, to be used for testing. Testnet coins are separate and distinct from actual coins, and are never supposed to have any value which helps our users to beta test the app without any lose of real coins. The most popular public testnet is called Ropsten which is the one we are deploying our beta app on. Ropsten is useful during later stage contract development. Ropsten is essentially the Ethereum network with free ETH.
