Do Legendary Shit!

This is the central message that we heard during Microsoft Build 2023 conference. The company emphasizes the scale of the progress made by artificial intelligence over the last year. It is fair to compare the changes happening today and the opportunities opened up with the invention of the Internet — one of the most remarkable milestones in modern history.

As you might expect, most of the announcements were related to AI. However, I want to highlight the increased number of presentations and round tables regarding Cosmos DB (compared to last year). In addition, the Q&A sessions with CTOs of companies successfully implementing this NoSQL solution from Azure enjoyed me a lot and were helpful.

I’ll dive deep into more detail in my future posts. But let me share my shortlist of the most remarkable videos.

  1. Windows Copilot. Remember the famous paper clip from Microsoft Office 97? Copilot — your personal AI-powered assistant — will be embedded into Windows in June. Watch the presentation here from the 48th minute.
  2. Azure AI Studio. Similar to point #1, but at a different level. Azure AI Studio allows companies to train ChatGPT models on their private data. Watch here from the 25th minute.
  3. Scott Hanselman, back in 2018, asked a simple question: “Why does Windows have a performance mode for gamers but lack a similar mode for developers?”. Yesterday at the conference, Scott was the first to try brand-new features for optimizing our work. I advise you to take a look (attention: the presentation contains humor!).
