Our latest hire is Innokentii (Kesha for short) Sennovskii, who recently joined us as an Applied Cryptographer.

Welcome to the team, Innokentii 🎉

Please introduce yourself — what you did before joining Aztec and what got you to the team?

Hi, I’m Innokentii and I joined Aztec as an Applied Cryptographer. I live in Moscow, Russia.

In the past, I worked as a low-level developer, a reverse engineer, a digital forensics expert, but I spent a lot of my free time studying cryptography.

How did you stumble across crypto for the first time?

I’ve always loved and studied cryptography. In fact, I chose my uni just because there was a Cryptography department there. I now teach a course “Attacks on Applied Cryptography” in that same department. As for cryptocurrencies, I think I first really “noticed” Bitcoin around 2013, when it reached $500 and the BBC wrote about it.

What excites you the most about Ethereum today besides ZKP?

I love the concept itself. It’s a complete whitebox, you can dissect any decision by any smart contract. And the rules are the same for everyone.

Tell me, what are you going to be focused on with your new role at Aztec?

I don’t think I’ll be focused on any one thing, but my work will probably touch the security of the protocol and software more often than not.

Please describe your work routine — where do you usually work and how do you set up your work environment? What’s a must for you?

I think it’s important that you separate your work and home environment at least for a change of scenery, so I’ve rented a spot in a coworking space. As for my work environment, the most important thing is probably an extra monitor and reasonable noise levels.

What unique stuff do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I love bouldering. I’m an absolute amateur, but the process still gives me immense satisfaction.

Do you have any special Netflix show you like to recommend?

Well, there are lots of interesting shows on Netflix. The ones that could fly under the radar and that I would recommend are the anime Dorohedoro and stand up Nanette.
