If you love being techy and you eat or have tasted watermelon before, then I’m sure that the name IDmelon will leave an impression on you. IDmelon is a Canadian firm whose primary focus has been exploring and creating authentication technologies based on Bluetooth and FIDO2 since 2016. Their platform enables organizations to easily and quickly implement secure passwordless authentication for their users. What makes them “thick” is the fact that you can manage and monitor new and existing keys from a central point. This is achieved through the specialized panel that is tailored to lower the operational costs of managing keys and accelerate project completion. Most importantly, minimize the need for personnel to implement and maintain the system. Well, we know of Platform as a Service, Infrastructure as a service, Software as a Service and others but with IDmelon, it’s Security key as a Service.

The Good thing about IDmelon is that you can use your smartphone in the place of a security key. Windows 10 and Windows 11 (Azure AD joined) and macOS 11.4 or later are both well supported with IDmelon Pairing Tool. Your smartphone should also have the IDmelon app loaded.
