We are excited to announce a new partnership with Ethereum push notification service — EPNS. This partnership should be of great interest to users of the protocol as they will interact first-hand with EPNS to enhance their overall experience with Azuro.

About EPNS

An everyday tool that was missing in Web3 before EPNS was communication between dApps and individual users. DApps were unable to reach out to users in a decentralized fashion, but now with EPNS, information can flow to users directly to their wallet addresses.

EPNS is building the world’s first open communication layer for the Web3 ecosystem, first for Ethereum and then for L2s and other blockchains. The protocol enables any smart contracts, dApps, or traditional servers to send notifications tied to the wallet addresses of a user in a platform-agnostic fashion. For example, notifications can be integrated and shown on any crypto wallet, mobile app, extension, or dApp.

It is extremely easy to set up and start receiving notifications. Simply connect your web3 wallet to the EPNS dApp and opt-in to channels of your choice, such as CoinDesk to start receiving decentralized browser/app notifications every time a news article is published.

Azuro x EPNS

Teaming up with EPNS to create push notifications, means we can provide an experience players are used to in centralized betting as well as maintain being completely decentralized. Moreover, we can look for ways to enhance our novel betting features such as the NFT secondary marketplace and GameFi betting. There are various avenues we will explore with EPNS to help us connect with users and enhance their overall experience, but potentially the first step could be to create a channel on EPNS for followers of Azuro to subscribe to for updates on the protocol. However, we see decentralized notifications playing a much bigger part than just updates and announcements. Notifications could be used to alert players of games about to kick off or winning bets due to be claimed, or even promote competitive odds currently on Azuro.

EPNS has brought a much-needed communication tool for both users and dApps, and we are looking forward to the different possibilities this collaboration can bring to the Azuro protocol.
