“Here, Take my Seat”

Why must we have a sign that tells us “Priority wheel chair area”?

Shouldn’t that be ingrained in our brains?

It seems to be such a fundamental moral thought to let those with disabilities take your seat that one can argue that it is nature and not even so far as nurture to realize this.

We think we are more intelligent than others, so we quiet others and raise our voices because our perspectives are valuable.

We think we are stronger than others, so we fight and argue aimlessly to demonstrate what we believe is strength.

We think we are more experienced than others, so we disregard their opinions on how we should go about things.

Why do we need to sit on a crowded transportation system if we are so much better?

Can’t we just stand?

If we are so much better, then not only is there someone that deserves the seat more, but everyone deserves the seat more because we are stronger/smarter/better than them.

We steal from ourselves.

We ignore those with more wisdom because of our ego.

We think we are better.

Imagine how much better you could be if you extracted from everyone.

We steal from ourselves.

We don’t do yoga, running, or fighting because it would get in the way of the gym.

We think we are strong.

Imagine how much stronger you would be if you were twice as flexible, 10x as confident with the ability to run & fight.

Sit to hold a seat for someone who would need it more.

I can’t change an ego, but I can try to influence how you act concerning it.
