Biking and beers have a long history. Not only with me, but throughout the existence of bikes and beer!

Yesterday after riding about 25 miles — between bike lessons I teach and a meeting about vegan food — I really wanted to stop at the convenience store on my route home and pick up a 6-pack.

It’s only ten bucks, I thought.

It’ll be cold and so good, I thought.

I didn’t ask myself what I really wanted. Never the less, I decided not to stop.

Gotta feed the dogs, I thought.

Just made a nice pot of Japanese rice, I thought.

Could spend that ten bucks on veggies, I thought.

Empty calories, I thought.

So, I passed the convenient store and got home to wagging tails and a cold Aquamin beverage. Sat in my hammock. Wrote a bit. And what I really needed — was rest. Healing rest and recovery.

Bikes and beer has a lot of history with me. Wonder what my future will hold 🥦🚴🏼‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🤙🏽
