Why So Serious?

Director Christopher Nolan does it again in The Dark Knight, the story of the Caped Crusader, and the infamous Joker’s fight for Gotham City. Nolan also directs Interstellar, Inception, and Dunkirk. Nolan Casts Christian Bale as Batman, returning from Batman Begins, and Heath Ledger as the Joker. Ledger was a perfect fit for the part, he took method acting to new level and it really showed. Ledger locked himself in a hotel room a month before shooting to mentally prepare for his role, and electrified the set and everyone around him. Tragically Ledger died on January 22, 2008 from an accidental intoxication of prescription drugs, just months after completing The Dark Knight. In my opinion the movie is quite long and I found myself just looking forward to the parts the Joker was in,it is one of the rarities where the supporting actor outshines the main character. This movie relates to the social issues surrounding domestic terrorism, anarchy, and chaos. This film really hits on the fact that everyone has a dark side and asks the question, “How far could you go if you had to?”.
