Hallo!

My name is Yinxiao He. I go by the name of Lisa. I am from China and currently live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I am a sophomore at Babson, considering concentrating on Tech Entrepreneurship. I enjoy traveling, playing piano, and baking.

The first reason for me to participate in this program is driven by a strong interest in the impact on sustainability from intricate relationships between governance, economic structure, and historical factors. The future development potential of a country is multi-dimensional, encompassing not just one aspect of sustainability but also the collaborative efforts of various institutions and individuals. This course will provide me with a comprehensive overview of Germany as a model of sustainable development. By first gaining a holistic picture of Germany, I can then delve deeper into specific industries. This approach ensures a more informed and nuanced perspective, enabling me to appreciate the intricate interplay between different sectors and their collective contribution to national development.

Another reason is due to a personal connection to the green energy industry through my family business. The renewable energy landscape in China, my home country, is currently in a transformative phase, navigating through various stages of innovation and implementation. Germany serves as the perfect model for understanding how a nation, communities, and individuals can foster innovation, drive change, and lead sustainable practices on a global scale. This program stands as a crucial stepping stone, allowing me to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, particularly in the field of renewable energy.

I am looking forward to visiting Hamburg, which is known for its advanced waste management and recycling systems in the world.

Bis bald!

Lisa
