Babylon is Rising
One week ago, we started giving access to the Alpha version of Babylon. finance.
As we get closer to our Beta, which is scheduled to start at the beginning of July, we want to explain how access control works.

Babylon uses NFTs for access control and membership badges.
The Ishtar Gate 🏰
The Ishtar Gate was one of the gates that protected the inner city of Babylon. Similarly, our website is protected by the Ishtar gate NFT. In order to access the Beta, you need to have a minted gate in your wallet.
During our Beta, all the Gardens are going to be private. This means that:
- You can only access the private Gardens you have been invited to.
- When someone invites you to a Garden, they can grant you different permissions, enabling you to deposit capital, vote on Strategies, and/or submit Strategies to the Garden.
- Even if you get invited to several gardens, you only need one minted gate NFT in your wallet.
Once you receive the NFT, the gates of Babylon will open for you…
It starts with a seed 🌱
Once you own the Ishtar Gate, you will be able to join the gardens you have been invited to. After you deposit capital and become a member of a Garden, you will receive one more NFT. This NFT will contain the 3D Garden representation.
The Garden NFT represents your membership in that community. Only members who join the garden can claim it.
Every garden is born from a random seed. After the garden is created, your community will decide its future.
- The plot of land and the volume of your garden directly depends on the number of members.
- The larger the principal of the garden, the sturdier the construction becomes.
- The construction will grow vertically over time.
- The Garden alpha will control how exuberant and vibrant its vegetation is.
We can’t wait to see what procedurally generated 3D gardens your community will generate as Babylon gardens grow and thrive.

With Babylon.finance, communities can set up a Garden and automatically give their members a membership badge. We expect communities to use NFTs to grant access to special content, events, promotions, raffles, and more.

This is just the beginning. We have many other ideas to expand the NFT functionality and we are waiting on your input to decide the best path forward. For example, we might connect all the gardens in a 3D metaverse so visitors can access Babylon and visit the gardens available.
