Welcoming Seth McGuire, Backbone’s President & COO

I’m proud to bring Seth McGuire onto the Backbone team as President and Chief Operating Officer. We believe Seth’s expertise will be a driving force of Backbone’s accelerated growth and are humbled that he’s willing to be a part of the journey with us.

Seth is an industry-vet, most recently leading Twitter’s data licensing business, managing the business’ revenue strategy, customer success and go to market teams, and secured and supported global companies and developers in building on Twitter’s data platform. Through his concentrated efforts, his leadership enabled Twitter’s “data licensing and other” segment to grow by over 20% each of his tenured years, reporting $114M in Q2 2019 revenue.

Before his time with Twitter, Seth ran channel partnerships and business development at Gnip, a social media API tool centered in Boulder. Prior to arriving in Colorado, he managed a research and sales team for the Corporate Executive Board, a consulting firm and subsidiary of Gartner based in Washington, D.C.

This role is extremely important and critical to Backbone’s continued growth, therefore, we chose to tap into our network rather than going the traditional executive-recruiting route. In Backbone’s case, we looked for an operational and analytical leader, with a diverse background in SaaS and experience thriving in fast-paced environments. Seth checks all those boxes and more. I’m looking forward to working with Seth on taking my vision of Backbone to the next level.
