After a productive meeting in Maria’s Corner Room, we are chatting with Henri Salo, the driving force of Sitedrive, a smart project management solution for construction industry helping constructors and doers to keep projects in time.

Like global banking and automotive industry, construction industry, the world’s largest real industry with 10 trillion revenue each year, is in the middle of the transformation. Risk money is flowing in the area and new startups are changing business & service model.

“Sitedrive was actually born in as a part of a two weeks renovation product. 90 % of projects in the construction industry overlap. White collar workers are used to time management and e-calendars but the doers, subcontractors, don’t have e-tools to keep control of people & time management.” Henri describes.

Fira is definitively in the top of entrepreneurship mind, resilience culture in Finland. In 2016, it created a Starter, a startup program to find new business models. Sitedrive was kicked part of the program and the solution was launched in 2017. Active users growth is now over 20% monthly and the team is expanding to Sweden at the end of 2018.

“Value-based thinking is very high in Fira. In Sitedrive, we are continuously monitoring models, where more and more users, like for example the main contractors and subcontractors, in the same ecosystem, could utilize the same data,” explained Henry

Fira is the forerunner in scalable business model understanding. “We get into SaaS metrics very soon after Sitedrive’s business model was created. SaaS metrics is a legitimate way for us to estimate the value of the business. Traditional P/L metrics fail to capture growth in SaaS, so business decisions and conclusions would go wrong.” Henry says.

Very much appreciate Fira’s resilience and also same time, very strict & professional way of working. New venturing is not a risk. Risk comes from not knowing what you’re doing.
