This is our super simple guide to backing up your Ubiquiti® UniFi Controller or Cloud Key on automated schedules.
What you will need
- A UniFi Controller — This can be any sort of controller like a Cloud Key, Raspberry Pi, your own server or a hosted server. It needs to be accessible over the internet or you can whitelist it to our IP (details in out portal) but it does need a permanent IP or Hostname.
- A BackiFi.com account. Don’t worry, it’s free.
- A location to send your backups to like Dropbox, Google Drive, AWS S3, FTP/SFTP etc.
Instructions
- Login to your BackiFi account, connect at least one controller, connect at least one storage location and then go to schedules to set some up.
- Click the
+
button top right and the rest is intuitive. - If you want multiple daily backups, like every midday and midnight, then create two daily ones. If you want weekly backups, create 4 Monthly ones and set to differnt days of the month.
- You can add as many different schedules that you like, once done, go to the
Configurations
tab and setup some scheduled automated backups.
