If you have already MetaMask wallet and $MATIC in it, you can move straight to Step 3.
Step 1: Install MetaMask
Go to MetaMask, download and install the extension (in Chrome or FireFox).
You’ll see the MetaMask 🦊 fox icon next to your address bar. Click the icon and MetaMask will open up.
Then you can either connect an existing wallet or generate a new one.
If you do this for the first time, you will need to create and confirm your password. Then, write down the Secret Backup Phrase in a safe place.
This Secret phrase, also called “Seed” phrase, is the only way for you to identify that this is YOUR wallet. If you lose it, you lose your funds.
Enter the seed phrase in the correct order and confirm the creation of your wallet.
Step 2: Add Polygon network to MetaMask
Click on Add network and fill the following:
Network name: Polygon
New RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com OR https://rpc-mainnet.maticvigil.com
Chain ID: 137
Currency symbol: MATIC
Block explorer URL: https://polygonscan.com/
After selecting Save, you will see that you are now on Polygon network and the only thing you need to do is to Buy or Send some $MATIC to your wallet address. You will find your address under Account 1. Click to copy.
Once you have some $MATIC tokens, you can move to the final step.
Step 3: Swap on Uniswap
Open Uniswap and click and Launch app in the upper right corner.
Click on Ethereum and select Polygon from the drop down menu. MetaMask will activate itself and will ask for confirmation for switching networks.
Once you are connected to the Polygon Network, you will see this screen:
Go to Select token and paste this address in the search bar:
