Delicious and nutritious
I’ll serve it with
potatoes and cabbage
if I don’t pig-out!

Corned beef
frequent visitor to
family table,
Eagerly anticipated,
Consumed by
family pack,
No scraps and
plates licked clean.

Saga started
with my usual
Grandfatherly whinge,
Sort of game,
This time round
whinged about
price of meat,
Normally greeted with
sympathetic eye rolling,
Surprised to receive
picture and recipe for
corned beef
ending with
“Go and cook it!”,
Gauntlet laid down,
Challenge accepted,
Simple enough!
