It’s Winter here,
Freezing cold,
But compared to
Arctic surrounds
it’s as warm as toast.

Backwater’s Cafe,
We’re too small to
have proper pub,
Rugged up and
huddled round
single bar radiator,
Doggles on
snuggling duty,
Apart from
some snoring
all is quiet,
Goodness,
Someone sneezed!

Been wonderful month,
Enjoyable stories from
gardens to soulful poems
linked by stepping stones,
Loved publishing them,
Gems in Medium’s soil.

Feel justified in
journeying to Backwater,
Quiet contentment for
all pub’s writers,
Writing for writing’s sake,
Worthwhile thinking for
others to enjoy.

Outside Backwater’s bounds
creatures prowl,
Howling scratching and
eating fast food!
Hope Gandalf drops by!

Taking breaks for
