Racism Does Not Seem To Go Away

Racism continues to be a virus in the United States.

Although some lawmakers in Washington, D.C. and throughout the states of the nation have tried for years to erase racism, it will not go away. People profess to be for equal rights for all, but there are many in the United States who continue to exhibit racist tendencies and actions.

People generally can be friends with people of other races if they become acquainted with each other. There are many interracial relationships which are successful in embracing diversity and inclusion.

People may exhibit hate, racism, discrimination, prejudice, and bias with people they do not know.

Racist issues came to the forefront once again with the killing of George Floyd by a police officer in 2020. Many protests resulted.

Colin Kaepernick tried to bring the problems of racism to the attention of the public when he took a knee during the National Anthem at a pro football game in which he was a star player. He was severely criticized for his actions.
