Do You Worship a Puny God?
Fight your preconceived notions and expand your mind and faith
On his “Everything is Spiritual” tour, there’s a part of the presentation where Rob Bell talks about the concept of God. He recounts the times when he meets people who no longer believe in God, and he asks them what view of God they grew up with, and they describe the capricious, petty, genocidal, xenophobic God of the Bible. Rob says that he doesn’t believe in that God either. He goes on to say that he thinks atheism is the healthiest spiritual response to that view of God.

Rob recognized what many of us who no longer have a belief in that god recognize — there is no logical or rational way the God of the Bible, as so many people worship him, is a being worth worshipping.
