When truth-telling goes awry
Sometimes, people go to extremes to follow the letter of the law. I had such an encounter with a friend in a small group. The topic of lying came up. One of the women in that group had a strong conviction that not lying was more important than protecting a life. She believed this was what God commanded in the Bible and was determined to obey.
