Finding Strength
A Series of Paintings to Comfort Those in Their Hardest Trials
Grief and pain are inevitable parts of our life on earth. Yet in our darkest moments, there is a presence that offers hope and solace. My new series of digital paintings, titled “He Gives Us Strength,” was born from personal heartbreak. I want to share the comforting presence of Christ with others who are suffering.
The inspiration for this series comes from the life-changing experience. I witnessed the tragic death of my son-in-law, Ryan, during a family hiking trip. It was hard watching my daughter, and her children navigate the aftermath of this traumatic loss. Through it, I’ve seen a journey of profound grief, resilience, and faith. I wanted to create something that would express the comfort I and my family felt from Christ. I want the paintings to express the peace and strength of his presence. I hope for that strength to help others endure their own trials.
