As often is the case, we turn a blind eye to the plight of those who suffer in developing nations, choosing instead to distract ourselves with the pleasures and treasures of western life.

Here is how the story unfolds. Once upon a time, well-meaning evangelical Christian missionaries went to Africa to “save” the people, believing they were on a god-ordained mission to preach the gospel to all nations.
The missionaries found their way to many “unreached” indigenous tribes, determined in their minds to evangelize them at all costs, without realizing that they were also importing and imposing a culture — a way of thinking and living that was actually at odds with the traditional African way.
