The Problem with The Holy Post Podcast

If you’re wondering why I used a picture of vegetables with a headline about a podcast, then you don’t know about Phil Vischer.

Vischer created the enormously popular Veggie Tales media company, which used animated talking vegetables to tell Christian children’s stories with humor and catchy songs. I know, I know, but most of them are pretty decent.

Now he co-hosts The Holy Post Podcast with Skye Jethani, former editor at Christianity Today. They discuss current events from a Christian perspective, usually with author Kaitlyn Schiess or documentary filmmaker Christian Taylor providing another perspective. The podcast always concludes with an interview of a Christian author, speaker, or thinker.

I’m a fan of The Holy Post. They bill themselves as “providing thoughtful Christian commentary,” and they mostly fulfill that promise.

What’s the Holy Post problem then? Sometimes they talk about things they don’t know much about, with far more confidence than they ought.
