Lost, alone by self-design

As a young adult in college, and finally independent of my fundamentalist evangelical indoctrination, I abandoned “religion.” I almost abandoned faith too. Outside the control of that suffocating environment, much of what I’d been told I must believe just didn’t hold up to scrutiny. So much of the dogma I’d been taught just felt didn’t feel decent… didn’t ring true in the words recorded of the life and teachings of Jesus.
