This week Stephany, UI UX designer, one of our leaders of the product team, brought us this article about something that we lived in late 2020, bringing us some about the importance of this area on the development of any project.

In late 2020 we attended a workshop on user experience (UX) at the STF (Brazilian Supreme Federal Court). Several companies have websites (as an example, the STF’s) with many features that are not used by the user, while other companies are clearer and objective, making it more practical to use the software.

They tested a program that visualized which procedure was the most used by users on the STF site, and with this, a change was made, showing that these users began to use the site’s search box more than other services, making navigation more practical.

It was reported how some experiences were for people on the government site who were needing to make a decision about a specific case. They asked what the profile of the people who help ministers make decisions would be like, following patterns, motivations, and also typical phrases of the person in question, making a profile of each one with their functions. The research was done with the help of programs (Google Analytics and Hotjar) that analyzed which areas of the site were most used and realized that the user demands a lot of time to find something that should be more practical, as analysts search for their decisions labeled with something that reflects their memory.

Some modifications to the site include a search bar and some options below it with shortcuts to direct the user to the requested point.

The lecture ends by portraying the reality of a return on investment in the form of a benefit for using the software.

With this, we saw how important it’s for UX to be present from the beginning of the project because this facilitates the life of the user and the company.
