The future of oil pipeline projects in the region will be the focus of a conference and exhibition in Bahrain early next year.

Energy Minister HE Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza will serve as the patron for the third international ‘Pipeline Operations and Management — Middle East’ conference and exhibition at the Gulf Hotel’s Convention Centre from April 11 to 14 (2016).

The event is being organised by Clarion Technical Conferences, Tiratsoo Technical and Global Webb Energy Consultants in co-operation with the National Oil and Gas Authority. Sponsors for the event include platinum sponsor Saudi Aramco and silver sponsors Bapco, Rosen Middle East and Clock Spring.

HE Dr. Mirza welcomed the decision to hold the series in Bahrain, pointing out that the Kingdom had been hosting a number of international conferences and specialized oil events. He highlighted the organizers for the important series, which showcases the best practices in pipeline operations and management, resulting in enhancing the safety of the global oil industry.

Dr. Mirza said delegates gathered at such events discuss important oil industry issues at technical and strategic levels, in order to improve quality, with special focus on innovations, current challenges and feasibility studies. They also provide unique networking opportunities to oil industry professionals — both in the Middle East and internationally — for consolidating relations with other leading companies.

The conference program will address a number of issues highlighted by the current industry situation and the future of oil pipeline projects in the region, both land and offshore developments. It will also explore solutions in areas such as leakage control and safe operations, as well as oil and gas economics, and the role of environment protection procedures for pipelines, energy conservation and transfer through pipeline systems.

More than 1,000 participants from 33 countries are expected to take part in the event, including oil industry professionals, engineers and technicians from various local, regional and international companies specialising in safe operations and integrated pipeline management, the participating operators and suppliers being leaders in their respective fields, providing technical support to oil industry companies operating in the vital field.

The event is expected to attract many national and international companies to exhibit their latest products, services and technology to oil industry colleagues. It will also provide delegates an opportunity to meet and interact with representatives of exhibiting companies.
