Arab League commends Swedish stance

Cairo, Oct30(BNA)The Arab League has today commended the Swedish Government for officially recognizing the State of Palestine, describing the decision as a correct step on the right path to achieve the legitimate demands of the Palestinian people.

Arab League Assistant Secretary-General for Occupied Palestinian and Arab territories Mohammed Subaih said that the Swedish decision would pave the way for other countries in the world to recognize the state of Palestine.

In a statement today, he said that many countries in the world are outraged by the policies of Israel which flouts the international resolutions. He urged the international community to proclaim its official recognition of the State of Palestine on basis of the June 4, 1967 prewar borders with Al-Quds as its capital.
