Foreign Minister meets UN Official

Jeddah, June18(BNA) Bahrain has today called for a collective action to settle the crisis unfolding in Iraq. Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al- Khalifa voiced the stance as he met the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General to Iraq Nickolay Mladenov.

The minister voiced concerns over the unstable conditions in Iraq and called for a joint action to seek a way out of the crisis and safeguard the security and territorial integrity of the country. The meeting was on the sidelines of the 41st Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which convened in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The two sides also discussed a number of issues of common concern, regionally and globally.
