1. Classic Shortbread Recipe

Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and salt.
4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until the dough comes together and forms a ball.
5. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
6. Cut the dough into desired shapes using cookie cutters or a knife.
7. Place the shortbread on a lined baking sheet and prick each cookie with a fork.
8. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
9. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
