As society moves towards a sharing economy, urging more user involvement and lower expenses, the real estate industry has seen a shift in demand. You no longer need a travel agent to plan your next vacation, and you might not feel the need for a real estate agent to hold viewings when selling your home. After all — the agent doesn’t know your apartment better than you do.
But rules, procedures and regulations are still an essential part of selling your home and navigating everything alone can be difficult — and potentially costly — if you make a wrong turn. With Samsolgt, we made sure to build a digital service that provides the same level of safety that traditional real estate agencies give you, but in a way that’s more adapted to the needs and rhythm of modern home owners.
How it works
Instead of paying a percentage of the selling price to the real estate agent, Samsolgt offers a fixed price that is nearly half of what you would traditionally pay to get your apartment sold. In return, you do most of the preparation and planning yourself while receiving digital, yet personal, assistance from real estate experts every step of the process.
All tasks, documents and communication are gathered in one place. Samsolgt connects you to an agent, photographer and appraiser. While they spend time on what they do best, you can fill out all the necessary forms yourself, digitally. In the meantime, the service keeps track of your upcoming appointments and tasks, so you know exactly where you are in the process.
All together, Samsolgt offers more control for the home owner and more flexibility for the realtor, and is more affordable for and accessible to them both. We are very happy about the close collaboration with DNB Eiendom in building a platform that sets out to change the established real estate model, making it easier for all.
We are also thrilled about our collaboration with Alva Technologies, who played a crucial part as trusted advisors throughout the project. Alva contributed with user insights and is the provider of important data that the service relies on, like price estimates, search and price statistics for the different areas.
When digitalizing a service, it naturally opens up to a potentially much larger user base. As a team we had this in mind the entire time. We worked systematically across all fields to ensure a service that is inclusive both in terms of gender, sexual diversity as well as for the visually impaired.
For instance, we’ve consciously strived to achieve a gender neutral language. When signing your legal forms and documents, you are able to identify as other owner and family constellations than what may be perceived as the norm. The illustrations also reflect the diversity of modern homeowners, whether it’s a pregnant woman or a same-sex couple.
Putting a lot of effort into making an accessible platform from the start — and being challenged by all the obstacles that come with this focus — we are proud to present such an innovative service that enables the many people to take more ownership in selling one of their most precious and personal possessions: their homes.
