Happy Father’s Day to all of the Fathers and the Mother-Fathers.
“You knew you were coming to see me, why didn’t you bring the package?” Rosalee demanded from her Mom after she sat down inside Simon’s Café.
“You wanted it, but refuse to come and get it. It’s free,” Charmaine reminds her daughter.
“Mom,” she said, as the waitress approached. “I am twenty-five years old, and you never made it easy for me. You are my mom. You are supposed to protect me.”
Staring at her daughter in shock, she asked, “I never protected you?”
“What I mean is you don’t make life easy for me. You are my mother,” she said, taking the menu from the waitress.
“I am also your father,” Charmaine reminds her. “And I have a double responsibility to let you know that Easy is a weapon and hardship is a tool. The easier you have it, the more you will owe life and everyone who hands you that silver spoon, and the more you will pay. In fact, with Easy, you will never stop paying the piper.
