SWEET AND SOUR

Tara loved to eat tamarind candies a lot. She had a special liking towards the candy. It was made from tamarind ,salt and jaggery. The correct proportions of the ingredients made the candy so tasty. She used to buy them in a small shop which was located near her school. Whenever the shopkeeper saw Tara, she used to reserve some candies for the little girl.

Tara forced her mother to make them at home but the taste was never the same. She was a regular customer until she moved to another city for further education.

Years later, Tara visited her town and this time, she had come with her daughter. She took her daughter to the same little shop and the old lady immediately recognized Tara. Her daughter didn’t like the candies and bought a chocolate instead.

The old lady smiled and said to Tara,” Time flies and people change.”

Tara said,”You are right. But memories remain the same. Can i have my candies now?”

The old lady laughed and gave her the same old tamarind candies.
