An African proverb says “It takes a village to raise a child”. Imagine what it means to grow a community.

Banat IT was founded back in 2014 with the aim to catalyze opportunities for the local tech and entrepreneurial community. Many activities have been undertaken since to fulfil its mission, ranging from civic hackathons, to collaborative research partnerships, tech conferences, meetups, educational programs, and more. Most of these actions have been followed by feedback sessions and the suggestions for improvement found their place in new plans. But it’s extremely important that the community plays an active role in the development of these plans by actually voicing its thoughts.

A growth-driven mission requires an effort to measure and understand the dynamics of a community. The Banat IT Community Survey is an instrument that will guide our strategy to better reflect the needs and wants of the local ecosystem and secure professional development opportunities regardless of what the not so certain near future has in mind for us all.

This survey is going to help us find answers to some of the most impactful questions to our organization’s future:

  • What is it that we call the local community?
  • Many people are working in the IT & C industry in Timisoara, but what is it that they actually do? Which events or activities do they take part in?
  • What is fundamental to your professional growth that the local community can provide?
  • How can you actively contribute to shaping the future of this community?
  • Why should you care about the community? What happens if you don’t?

If you’ve read this piece, you’re most likely a community member who could and should take a few minutes to shape what the next year(s) can bring. Contribute to help us make the most of the resources we have to continue delivering opportunities for growth. You can fill in the form until the end of October by following >> this LINK <<.

The information collected with this survey has the sole purpose of reflecting the state of the community. The results will be published on our website by the end of November 2020. Fill it in and stay tuned!
