The 6.0 Update: BAND’s Makeover

The BAND 6.0 update has a lot of fun surprises! From the new app icon to features like Dark Mode or hashtag suggestions, read below for some of the highlights & get the updated version of BAND!

New Changes for the 6.0 Update

• Icon Update: At BAND, we love hearing stories of our users growing closer and achieving goals through our service. In the 6.0 update, we’re introducing an icon that better depicts our identity as such a platform. The icon symbolizes a tight knit group of individuals uniting and shows BAND’s commitment to bringing groups closer through the best communication experience!

• My Page: We’ve spruced up your “My Page” where you can check all your upcoming events or your bookmarked posts! You can find this page on iOS by tapping where it says “more” on the bottom right corner of your home feed. For Android, tap on the three horizontal lines at the top right corner of your home screen.

• Tag Button: You can now add trending hashtags just by clicking the new ‘Tag Button’ in a post. This will help you and your group easily organize posts with specific hashtags! Also, check out which tags are being used the most by tapping on the “Suggested Tags” bar.

• To-Do List Deadlines: We’ve added a deadline option to the To-Do List feature. Now you can get things done in a timely manner and hold people accountable by setting a deadline. Best part is, nothing can be edited or checked off passed the deadline.

• Calendar Scroll: iOS users! You can now easily scroll through your calendar events like Android users.
• Top Post Emotes: Aside from having a cleaner post style, we’ve also made it easier to see the top shouts. Posts will now display the most picked shouts of a post.

• Image Crop: You no longer have to worry about cropping an image before uploading it to BAND. You can now crop images in-app, making it an easier transition.
• Chatroom Cover Image: Your private chatroom cover image will now have the profile images of the users in the chat. So no need to keep looking into the gray abyss.
• Vote Limit: Set a specific number of votes each member can have for each poll. Voting on the two best options? Have members vote for their top two favorites by setting a limit of two votes per person!

• Device Font Match: The font size in-app will now match the font size of your device.
• LINE and Facebook Users: Previously, if you created your account through Facebook or Line, you couldn’t edit your name. We’ve now made it so you can edit your name via your “My Page.”
• Gender Option: We’ve had a lot of feedback about users who didn’t feel comfortable choosing a gender, many for identity or privacy reasons. Now, we have an “other” option to give everyone peace of mind.
• Blocking Troublesome Members: Don’t worry about having to hurry and ban a user before they leave. You can now block people who have already left your BAND to preventing from coming back to cause havoc once more.
• Content Clean-Up (Android only): Is your Band getting spammed with content that’s not relevant? Admins can now delete up to 50 posts at once to make spam-control and easy and quick process. This is especially helpful for those larger public Bands. For the time being, this is only available on Android devices but will soon be implemented into iOS.

• Dark Mode (Android only): Switch to “Dark Mode” for a background that’s easy on the eyes while you scroll through BAND before bed. This is also only available on Android devices but will soon be implemented into iOS.

• OH. We also did A TON of bug fixes.
