Announcing Band Protocol Ambassador Program
The year 2019 has come to the last quarter, marking one of the most important periods for Band Protocol. We wrapped up our token sale, launched Mainnet on Ethereum, and begin integrating Band Protocol with multiple DeFi and layer-1 projects.
Throughout this crazy period, our community has been incredibly supportive. From creating memes to rigorously providing user feedback to technical discussion, we believe our community is one of the most genuine and enthusiastic in the space. We want to give our community the opportunity to get more hands-on and involved with Band Protocol.
Our vision is simple: become the go-to decentralized oracle for dApps across multiple blockchain networks and ensure maximum security, speed, and low cost.
We want to share our vision with the world, but we don’t want to do it alone. As a community-driven project, we want YOU to take part in propelling Band Protocol and help us shape our strategic vision.
Today, we are excited to announce the official launch of the Band Protocol Ambassador program!
What is a Band Ambassador?
This is an exclusive opportunity to get involved with Band Protocol at such an extremely early stage.
Band Ambassadors are a group of volunteers who are passionate about Band Protocol and wish to support the project in their own stream. We’re looking for talented and enthusiastic people who will represent Band Protocol in their local communities.
What is in it for Band Ambassadors?
We value our community’s time as if it were our own. For that reason, we will ensure all our ambassadors are recognized and rewarded for their time.
Band Ambassadors will:
- have access to an exclusive ambassadors-only group
- have regular calls with Band Protocol team members
- direct access to executive members of Band Protocol
- get involved with the direction of internal development
- potentially be invited to internal meetings with the Band core team and other ambassadors
- receive rewards in a form of BAND tokens
- receive exclusive BAND swag
- funding to host local meetup and workshop where applicable
Types of Band Ambassadors
We’re looking for specialized ambassadors who do what they do best. As such, we have created six categories of Band ambassadors (you can do more than one as well!):
1. Social Media Master
Do you enjoy the daily routine of engaging and sparking conversations online about Band Protocol? Welcome to this role! You will be responsible for:
- growing and educating the online community on all social platforms such as — Twitter, Telegram, Reddit, LinkedIn, etc.
- creating articles, videos, or visual content as a means to bring more engagement and understanding of Band to the mass.
- bringing more splashes to our announcements and product launch by reaching out to influencers/publications and get us featured on their platforms.
2. Translator
To be the world’s data governance protocol, it’s critical that Band’s information and content are understandable and accessible globally.
Translators will need to consistently translate Band Protocol’s content. These will be in various forms such as blog posts, video transcripts, explainers, websites, and Band dApps.
3. Graphic Content Creator
Graphic creators will be responsible for creating infographics and videos to best generate awareness for Band Protocol. We encourage being creative and targeting many different angles — some suggestions of ours include:
- Overview of Band Protocol
- What problems can Band solve?
- What are the use-cases of Band’s decentralized oracle?
- Band Protocol comparison with another project.
- What type of apps/dApps can use Band Protocol?
4. Article Content Creator
We love our article content creators! Articles are undoubtedly one of the most effective ways to educate readers about the project. We encourage writers to write whatever is on their minds related to Band Protocol!
5. Technical Advocate
We are all blockchain tech enthusiasts at Band Protocol. There is currently no ambassador program in the space that focuses on and rewards the techies in the community. We decided to shine a special focus on our technical community.
As a Technical Ambassador you are required to:
- write a technical article on Band Protocol’s technology stack
- create a dApp on Band Protocol and an article to outline its functionality and how Band has been integrated
- write 2 articles or build 1 working dApp to be eligible
- be active and answer technical questions on Telegram
6. Community Rep
You will represent Band Protocol in your respective location. We expect that you coordinate with other local community members to organize well-planned events and meetups with local crypto communities. Your responsibilities include:
- submit a detailed proposal on resources needed for the event for approval
- attend local crypto/blockchain conferences as speakers/visitors
- advocate Band to speakers, panelists, and attendees to spread the word about Band
- lead partnership initiatives with relevant local businesses that fit with Band protocol use cases
Common Ambassador Tasks
Although we have specialized ambassador requirements, we strongly encourage all ambassadors to:
- collect useful feedback from the community
- test and give feedback on products
- curate and provide constructive feedback on Band’s content
- share Band’s content via social media
- talk to Band team about community/market trends and suggest what Band should do to grow sustainably
- support the use of the BAND tokens
How Do I Become an Ambassador?
If you’re passionate about Band Protocol, interested in data oracles, decentralized finance, and Web 3.0, we’d love to have you onboard as our very own ambassador. We’ll be searching for candidates who thoroughly understand Band Protocol and are consistently active on our Telegram.
