Band Protocol Partners With Celo Camp To Support DeFi Startups Built On Celo
Band Protocol provides real-time, decentralized oracle technology on Celo and becomes official mentor on Celo Camp, a two-month-long bootcamp for 18 finalist startups building on Celo’s blockchain technology.
Band Protocol has successfully integrated with Celo and will be the oracle technology provider for Celo Camp, an eight-week virtual bootcamp and accelerator for over 18 finalist startups building on Celo. Band Protocol will also be a mentor for the Celo Camp startups alongside the likes of Andreessen-Horowitz (a16z), Polychain, Winklevoss Capital, C Labs and more leading blockchain figures contributing to an open financial future.

Celo Camp is a virtual accelerator and competition challenging over 251 startup teams across 60+ countries to build open financial applications on the Celo blockchain platform. 18 winning finalist teams have been chosen to receive mentorship on technology and business strategies to help bring their decentralized applications to life. Joining Celo Camp will enable all 18 final startups to connect their smart contracts to external data sources in a reliable, decentralized and highly-flexible manner. Leveraging Band Protocol’s flexibility, startups are able to retain full end-to-end customizability and create their own fine-tuned oracles, specifying any data sources to connect to and the aggregation method. Additionally, built-in oracle scripts are supported to provide data connections to crypto price & volume, stock price, random number generation, flight data, weather data, Ethereum Gas and Bitcoin block hash.

Created by Upright, a virtual platform for developer programs and outreach, Celo Camp brings together teams from around the world who are committed to building an open financial system that creates prosperity for all. With up to $30,000 in prizes, winning teams will receive resources and mentorship to help them build sustainable businesses in the Celo ecosystem. During Celo Camp, teams will use Celo’s open-source tools for building mobile-first dApps and other financial services.
