Shellshock
Shellshock are a four-piece band from North/West London, UK fusing metal with drum & bass blast-beats into their own unique, raucous 'E Metal' sound.
Formed in 2000 by four driven individuals who strove to create a unique, flawless sound in music by fusing the styles of dark drum & bass with aggressive, in your face Metal. Their pulsating, energy driven live shows soon saw them ramming local venues to the rafters and their debut E.P 'Injected into the Hive', released in 2005, was widely seen as a natural progression from the Slipknot sound of programmed beats and brutal, clinical metal into one of a more programmed dance style of hard hitting drum & bass and received positive online and published reviews.
The band recruited the production services of Dan Weller/ Justin Hill (ex Guitarist and Vocalist from UK metal act Sikth) to engineer and produce their first full-length album "Laws of Rebellion”, which was released in 09/07/07 through Grindhouse recordings in Japan and received a fantastic response selling over 2000 copies in the first 2 weeks. This, along with their fiery live show attracted the attention of many of their peers and was followed by a European tour which saw them play with such acts as Skindred, Lost Prophets ,Sikth and many more.
Shellshocks electronic influences and Drum & Bass layers attracted the attention of DJ’s and remix artist from across the globe and on 06/06/09 ‘Dimensions of Design’ was released; a 35 track remix behemoth showcasing the bands variety of musical styles, influences and talents.
After a short break Shellshock recruited the talents of Ollie Barron (bass) and Bones (guitar) in 2009 and after a spate of amazing live shows they then got their teeth into writing and recording their next studio album. With old friend Justin Hill on board as mixing engineer. ‘Born From Decline’ is an album set to take their sound to the next level, a pure and polished blend of E-Metal brutality set for release in May 2012.
Shellshock are pioneers of the electronic cross-genre metal scene and for over a decade have dedicated themselves to touring, recording and pushing the boundaries of traditional media, platforms and technology to produce a powerful energy force both on record and live. This experience has seen them rise to the elite and with the release of their 2nd full length LP just around the corner they are set to rock crowds across the globe.
