Year after year, more and more electric vehicles (EVs) are hitting car showrooms. Looking at our roads, you’ll find more people driving them daily — for a good reason. Their battery technology has evolved and now provides EVs with an extended range, meaning one charge can take you a long way.

With many drivers leaving behind gas cars for EVs, global car companies have become fiercely competitive in producing EVs with distinctive features.

So, if you’re considering buying an EV, you’re not alone! To help you on your journey, we’ve collaborated with automotive content creator Hani Kanash to give you a rundown of 5 EVs he recommends that are available in Jordan.

In 5th place: Nissan LEAF

Nissan has developed its expertise in EVs so much over the years that the Nissan Leaf is one of the most popular EVs on the market today. It’s in great demand as it’s an excellent option for those on a budget. According to Hani Kanash, the car has a reasonable range for its price, is practical for driving in cities, comes with convenient add-ons, a warranty, and excellent after-sales service from Nissan.

In 4th place: BMW iX3

The iX3 from BMW is the company’s first EV and is an SUV. When we asked Hani for his opinion, he said: “Yes, its price is high, but it’s very technologically advanced. It provides a smooth driving experience, a modern exterior, and an exceptional range. Not to mention great add-ons. But its high price is what led me to lower its rank”.

In 3rd place: Volkswagen ID.3

The Volkswagen ID.3 is a hatchback car catered for families that comes in a modern exterior and marks a new era for the German company. Although it’s compact, it’s roomy on the inside. Hani describes it as “the new player in the Jordanian market”. But he also mentioned that it’s currently only available to buy from the imported car market, with private sellers providing after-sales services.

In 2nd place: Volkswagen ID.4

The Volkswagen ID.4 is like the improved and bigger sister of the Volkswagen ID.3, and you may have noticed its widespread popularity among drivers. Hani explains, “the reason behind its popularity is its relatively large size and reasonable price, especially compared to how new it is. Plus, it has a futuristic exterior, unique add-ons, and delivers a long range per charge”.

And, in 1st place: Hyundai Kona Electric

It’s no surprise that Hyundai’s Kona Electric is at the top of Hani’s list. According to Hani, it has everything any driver could wish for, from a modern exterior and excellent after-sales service from Hyundai to available spare parts. Not to mention, it’s reasonably priced, its size suits most people, and its range is impressive. Hani expects the Hyundai Kona to remain a top choice for many until the Hyundai IONIQ 5 is launched in the market.

We hope one of the five cars listed has found its way to your heart. If so, we have to tell you that Bank al Etihad offers an electric car loan proposition that would entitle you to a free car charger. With this loan, you would have up to a 7-year repayment period and receive financing of up to 100% of the car’s price. Click here to learn more.
