Fire Financial Services are delighted to support the UCD Startup Stars programme developed by NovaUCD and the UCD Innovation Academy. The programme provides a framework and support for UCD undergraduate students who want to work together to build start-up companies.
Becoming involved as a sponsor of UCD Startup Stars this year was a perfect fit for Fire Financial Services. Following the sale of Realex Payments in March 2015, our regulated entity was spun out in to a new start-up world.
Fire Financial Services is our new business and we have a huge mission — to transform the bank account. We have so much to do and where best to learn but the innovation academy in UCD.
We wanted to be connected and immersed in learning and we could not think of anywhere better than UCD. By sponsoring the programme we get to meet the multi-disciplined students from across the college and their expert coaches. We witnessed some amazing pitches and compelling debates.
We are addicted to design, innovation and learning — we believe that it is these things with will ultimately make Fire a global business.
We want to say thanks to UCD for the experience and we look forward to working closely together again soon. We congratulate all the students who were involved throughout the full programme and we wish them the very best as they continue work on developing their ideas.
