As a frequent flyer between London and Dublin, I constantly meet people who need to pay and be paid in sterling and euro.

I have several friends who work as consultants and often need to get paid in both currencies. I also know a lot of people in the UK who need to be paid in euro — for a house that they are renting out etc.

For such payments, cards are not an option, bank transfers are expensive and opening another bank account is very awkward and is not an option in most cases.

“We want to take away these problems for people and businesses. We aim to make payments so much better. That is why we have built Pay with Fire.”

Pay and be paid in Sterling and Euro

Once you download the Pay with Fire app, you can instantly open an account and transfer funds from any bank account in sterling or euro.

As you verify your identity via the app, you get access to more services and accounts. Each account has a BIC/IBAN or sort code and account number so you can get paid directly to a Fire account from any bank account in the sterling or euro zone.

Transfer funds between Sterling and Euro cheaply and in real-time

The latest version of the app also allows you to transfer funds between sterling and euro accounts.

So now, if you are living in the UK and renting a house in France — you can be paid directly into your euro Fire account, transfer to sterling at a great rate and withdraw to any bank account in the UK.

If you live in Dublin and do some occasional work in the UK and want to be paid in sterling — then add a sterling account in Fire and use your Fire sort code and account number to be paid in sterling and simply convert to euro. Or, leave it in sterling and use it to pay sterling bills, etc.

Remember with the Pay with Fire app you can pay any mobile in the UK and Ireland.

As always we would love to hear your feedback.
